currently completing my medical school requirements, planning a trip to england & wales, working in the IT industry (for last 15 years - yes, I'm old), and generally trying to stay sane without the help of too many psychiatric medications.

my current research interests (for school), include prion diseases (specifically the transmissibility spongiform encephalopathies from cervids to humans), cellular/genetic dysfunction in schizophrenia (both pre and post-treatment with psychotropic medication) and the epidemiology of pandemic influenza in highly globalized populations. my non-academic research interests include dialects of north america (specifically the inland north and great lakes region), comparative religious studies, existentialism, and philosophy.
